Most self-publishers make the same mistake: they film themselves holding their book and wait for sales. The viewer spots “this is an ad” in half a second.
What works much stronger is when a “reader” recommends the book. But where do you find a consistent reader who will film videos for every title?
You can create one.
Works especially well on BookTok and Instagram Reels. Set up the character once, and after that you can crank out videos for different books in 15–20 minutes.

How it works
- Film a short video of yourself (even on your phone) simply sharing 2–3 takeaways from the book.
- Generate a realistic AI character (girl or guy) and create a character sheet so the face and style stay consistent.
- Upload your video to Higgsfield Genjutsu (motion transfer mode). The model keeps your gestures, facial expressions, and timing, but completely replaces the person, the background, and even the book cover.
- Swap the voice with HeyGen (or similar).
- Light edit in CapCut — captions, a couple of zooms, and you’re done.
