Since late September 2026 the old Wallet has been officially renamed Walt.

It’s the same service (same balances, same history, same addresses), it just no longer appears in Telegram Settings. You can open it via the bot @walt (the old @wallet still works too).
In its place a new built-in wallet from Telegram itself is gradually rolling out — Money (also known as Gram Wallet). This is a non-custodial wallet focused on GRAM (formerly TON) and everyday actions inside the messenger.

What’s the difference

Walt (former Wallet)Money (new from Telegram)
TypeCustodial + DeFiNon-custodial
PurposeTrading, investments, 300+ assets, futures, EarnGRAM transfers, gifts, collectible usernames
Where to open@waltTelegram Settings / “Money” button
Transfer feesStandardFirst 5 transfers per day are free

What already works in Money

  • Send GRAM directly from a chat (just like a photo or file)
  • Buy gifts and collectible usernames
  • Top up from Walt with no network fee
  • Protection via Face ID / separate passcode
The rollout is gradual, so some people already have it and some don’t. If it’s not there yet — just wait, that’s normal.

What to do right now

  1. If you used the old Wallet — no need to move anything. Everything is still in @walt.
  2. Want to try the new one — go to Settings and check if the Money section has appeared.
  3. Just in case, save your seed phrase if you’ve already created a non-custodial account.
Telegram keeps embedding crypto directly into the messenger. The old wallet didn’t disappear — it just moved and changed its name. The new Money makes GRAM transfers as simple as sending a sticker.
